David Harris is non-profit executive, manager and leader with more than thirty years of experience developing and implementing multi-million dollar philanthropic and non-profit programs, fundraising campaigns and operations. Now an independent consultant, David most recently served as Vice President of Grants & Initiatives at the Iowa West Foundation, where he managed a $20 million annual grants program focused on promoting community & economic development, education, and social needs. David also created the Foundation’s first strategic grant-making plan and evaluation and strategic learning system. Prior to that, David has served as a consultant, worked with the John D. & Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, Jobs for Youth, Morgan Stanley, CBS, Inc., and Nigerian Television Authority. David holds a Master of Science degree in Urban Studies from the University of Nebraska Omaha, a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and History from Harvard College, and a Certificate in Non-Profit Management from Columbia University.
